The grand opening of Trés Ivanhoe Salon felt like more than just a new salon opening, it felt like a moment. The kind where you can tell something intentional is being built, not just launched.
Trés is designed to be a true one-stop beauty salon here in Orlando. They offer hair and nail services, and they’re also introducing scalp massages – making them one of the first salons in Orlando to bring that level of pampering into a modern salon setting. I tried the scalp massage myself during the event and loved it, hands down one of those low-key luxury services that instantly makes the experience feel next level. But what really defines Trés isn’t just the services. It’s the atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the space feels modern, welcoming, and inclusive. No stiff beauty rules. No outdated expectations. Just a place where people can come in, relax, and feel taken care of.
That energy carried straight into their grand opening.
One of the highlights of the event was the traditional lion dance, which is often performed during grand openings to bring good luck, prosperity, and protection. During the dance, the lion “eats” lettuce – symbolizing abundance and clearing the path for success. It was powerful, meaningful, and honestly just really cool to witness. Moments like that instantly elevate an event because they’re rooted in culture, intention, and community – not just aesthetics.
This is exactly why event photography matters.
Event photography isn’t just about showing what happened. It’s about capturing how it felt. Grand openings, brand launches, anniversaries, activations, and community events move fast, but the right photos freeze the energy, the details, and the moments you worked hard to create. These images end up doing so much more than recapping the day; they become part of your brand story.
When I photograph events in Orlando, I’m not just chasing the obvious shots. I’m paying attention to the interactions, the details… the vibe in the room. I want the images to feel elevated and intentional but still real, never staged or overdone. The goal is to give you photos that actually feel like your brand and that you’ll want to use long after the event is over.
Trés Ivanhoe Salon’s grand opening was a perfect example of that. Between the cultural elements, the thoughtfully designed space, and the way people showed up and connected, the story was already there. My job was just to document it in a way that felt true to what they’re building.
